Staff Training and Education

Our staff regularly attend courses and workshops in order to maintain our high standards. On alternate months all practice staff attend an afternoon’s training and education when it is necessary to close the practice for the afternoon and the out of hours doctor service will take over. Patients will be informed when this is due to happen and your understanding is appreciated.

Teaching and Training

As part of our commitment to the future of medicine and nursing we are a teaching and training practice. Students in a number of specialities may accompany our staff from time to time but principally those you may encounter are:

• GP Registrars (previously known as trainees), who are doctors who stay with us for six months. These are fully qualified doctors who are based at our practice in order to complete specialist training to become GP’s.

• Medical Students: All of our doctors are involved in medical student teaching and from time to time students may sit in on consultations in order to gain experience. Whilst your cooperation would always be appreciated, please tell the receptionist if you would prefer to see the GP alone.
